Midwest Food Bank and Home Sweet Home Ministries completed another successful year of Give Thanks. With the generous support of the community, we collected enough turkeys and meal items to impact nearly 10,000 individuals.
Over 200 volunteers distributed the turkeys and meal boxes on November 18th and 20th at Midwest Food Bank. With the combined distribution dates, 2,416 households were served.

On Thursday, September 21, Midwest Food Bank had the blessing of hosting an open house at our new facility.
Guests followed a map for a self-guided tour. At the end of the tour, delicious hors d'oeurvres were ready to enjoy. At 4pm, everyone gathered for a McLean County Chamber of Commerce ribbon cutting.

As a Salvation Army first responder, Midwest Food Bank is answering the call to send disaster relief food boxes to Texas. This request for aid is unique in that it is made for a disaster yet to happen. Harvey is expected to make landfall on the central part of the Gulf coast early Saturday morning as a major hurricane.
